INFJ : The Relevance of Personality Test

December 4, 2008

Just yesterday, I was really troubled on who I am, why, and how should I exist? I don’t know why it suddenly popped out of my head. Seeking for answers, I sent a YM message to a friend just to release some of stress I am feeling since she is really very perceptive and understand people’s emotions in an instant. She addressed some questions such as what makes you “you”? What are your comfort zones? What makes you happy?

Those questions made me recall my life experiences. It was like I was in a vacuum where I was sucked in a world of the past where past events, people, scenarios became so real for me. And finally I found my answer. My vision, my goal, my happiness is having a complete family. I think that dream is simple, but in my case it is really complicated.

She told me that by knowing and understanding myself better, that will relieve the weight of the burden I am feeling inside. Then she said that she was an ISFJ. Hearing that acronym for the first time in my life. I honestly told her what is that? What does it mean? It is her personality ISFJ: Introvert Sensing Feeling Judgment. Then she asked me? What’s yours?

Okay. I am quite bias about this kind of stuff because I believe that these kind of topics are pretty girlish for me. So, I frankly told her I don’t know since those things did not interest nor concern me. By expalining to me that taking the personality on the net, you will understand why you act in such a way where you can’t even explain why you acted that way.

It was lunch time, I decided to take on the test. I took it seriously as if I am trying to recall instances so that my answers have basis. The result is I am an INFJ: Introvert Intuition Feeling Judging.

I am a kind of person who treasures personal values, long time relationships, peace loving, enjoys being alone at certain points, loves contemplating about things, wants to be included to have a change, who finds happiness in the simplest things such as making someone smile, very secretive unless I trust you so much, loves to hang out in small groups of people, the rarest kind of all personalities around 1% of the total world population.

Reading the descriptions of INFJ in terms of career and love relationships, I saw the exact copy of “me”. This made me realize by understanding yourself, you will not feel awkward, lost in space.

Now, the burden is slowly diminishing because I have found light, even though it is still dim.

I’m also an infj. You stated on your profile that you are “an aspiring business tycoon”. I want to ask what is the reason behind it.
